Laser hair removal is a noninvasive way to permanently remove unwanted body hair without damaging the surrounding skin.

What happens during laser hair removal?
During your laser hair removal appointment, your provider cleans the treatment area. While many people tolerate the treatment well, the doctor can also apply a topical numbing cream to improve your comfort.
Your provider places a handheld applicator over your skin to eliminate unwanted hair. The applicator delivers light energy into targeted hair follicles to destroy their structure. Throughout treatment, you may feel sensations similar to a rubber band snapping against your skin.
Your number of treatments depends on the size of the treatment area. You’ll likely need 4-6 laser sessions to address all unwanted hair. This is because your hair grows in cycles, and the laser can only treat hair that is currently in the active growth phase. Not all follicles will be in this phase at the same time.
What can I expect after laser treatments?
You should see noticeable results soon after your laser hair removal sessions are complete.
It’s normal to have some skin redness and to swell immediately after your laser treatments. You can return to your usual activities right away without limitations.
